Pirtek Porsche Punished By Top Runners!
Posted May 6th 2017: The #CTechMotorsport #VirtualPirtekRacing Team Head Back To Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tomorrow (Sunday 7th) With Two Of The Teams Three #PirtekPorsche For Rounds 3 & 4 Of The Online Racing Association British GT eSports Championship.
VPR's Brock Is Missing This Round For Personal Reasons Therefore The Points Collection Responsibility For The Team Rest With VPR's Jayc1975 & AnonCaliga.
The Teams Using The Porsche RSR Platform Also Found Out Soon After Round One That The Rear Tyre Width Would Be Reduced For The Porsche RSR GT3 Before Round Three At Indianapolis On Sunday, This Reduction In Tyre Width Means The Car Is Much More Unstable, Less Competitive In Comparison To Most Other Cars Registered For The TORA Race Series. This Latest BoP Feels To Many Who Also Use The Porsche To Be A Handicap That Has Been Applied Only Due To Many Top Drivers Continually Complaining To TORA Staff.
This Latest Handicap Ensures The Usual Top Ranking TORA Drivers Stay On Top, Face No Competition & Win The Championship Without Any Real Form Of Competition. Although Only Into Rounds 3 & 4 Of The Championship It Is Already Evident Who The Series Winners Will Be & Raises The Question... 'Should The Porsche Drivers Even Bother Carrying On With The TORA BGT eSports Championship?' For The First Time The Porsche 911 RSR GT3 Actually Felt Competitive With A Wider Rear Tyre Combo Allowing The Car To Race Alongside The Clearly Better Performing Cars Which Allowed For Much Exciting & Entertaining Displays Of Door By Door Racing, But Now The Tyre Handicap Has Been Applied By TORA Due To Constant Complaints From Some Part-Time TORA Top Racers Means The Porsche Is Again Destined To Complete Each Round At The Back Of Most TORA BGT Lobbies.

We wish both Jason and Ryan the very best for their first official races with the team and wish CTech Motorsport Team Manager Nutter a speedy recovery and hope he returns to normal team operating duties quite soon.

Once again Martin, welcome to the team & may it be a long & successful partnership as well as being awarding for all parties.
CTech Motorsport To Celebrate 5th Team Birthday This Month
Posted March 2nd 2017: This month CTech Motorsport celebrate the teams fifth Birthday. Established in March 2012 by three motorsport fanatic friends who all lived in different parts of the United Kingdom their objective was to compete as a small yet closely knit and private team on iRacing. The team would focus on having one driver while the other two team members maintained a social media presence online for the sim race team allowing them to gather a following and finally drum up real world sponsorship firstly with Castrol then in later years with current long term and main sponsor Pirtek and also a smaller sponsorship deal from Autoglym.
CTech Motorsport would then decide to leave the PC sim racing community and iRacing behind due to the small amount of people taking part in PC sim racing at that time to later seek out alternative sim racing communities populated with larger audiences allowing for more competitive and challenging racing and so later in the same year CTech Motorsport made the decision to take up console racing on the now obsolete virtual racing communities such as Virtual Motorsports and TURN. CTech Motorsport originally signed to and raced on The Online Racing Association (TORA) first before registering as a team and racing on the now obsolete Virtual Motorsports and TURN communities, it is however TORA that the team continued to drift back to due to their professionalism and where the CTech Motorsport team remain loyal to this day. Over the years at TORA and other online racing communities CTech Motorsport have clocked up many race wins and at least three race series championships, two of which are held at TORA alongside several championship runners up team positions.
In 2014 CTech Motorsport secured real world sponsorship from British Touring Car Championship and Andrew Jordan sponsor, Pirtek UK, making CTech Motorsport one of a small minority number of sim racing teams to have actual confirmed real world sponsorship. Since Pirtek came on-board as sponsorship partners CTech Motorsport also race under the team title of Virtual Pirtek Racing to reflect the long term official sponsorship from Pirtek. In late 2015 CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing made the decision to run team recruitments enabling the team to grow and allowing them to take part in other forms of race series championships such as endurance racing. To grow the team and add members didn’t come lightly for the three original owners as the team prefer to remain somewhat private in their daily running of the team and how they go about sourcing and securing sponsorship and maintaining a growing media presence online and to suddenly allow strangers to see how things were done behind scenes would need some thinking.
Nevertheless, the team made the decision to press forward in the growth of the team in 2016 and agreed that they would only bring trusted, carefully selected people into the team and only after they had completed an undisclosed amount of time on a trail period with the team therefore allowing team management to vet their new team colleagues before offering them a full time position within CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing. To date, the team still maintain this form of selection process and “rightly or wrongly while certain other sim racing teams grow massively and very quickly bulking out their team membership numbers we do things differently here because we don’t focus on team numbers, we don’t want any of our team feeling like they are simply a number to cover a particular race on a particular day in a particular race series, we like to think of our members as team mates, family in a sense. We focus on family heavily here at CTech Motorsport and that’s why we select the correct people to fit in with us. How we select our team can make for slow team growth but it is essential for us to select the right person for our team who will hopefully remain with us for a long period of time and work alongside team management” joint team principal AnonCaliga told the media team in writing this article.
During July last year CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing also celebrated the teams second sponsorship anniversary to mark having been officially sponsored by Pirtek for two full years. To mark the occasion, during the July month of 2016 the CTech Motorsport media team ran a twitter competition offering a BTCC VIP ticket package for two supplied courtesy of team sponsor, Pirtek.
The official 5th birthday date for the CTech Motorsport team is March 11th and we expect to create something to mark our fifth team birthday later this month. Keep an eye on our official team media accounts for further info during the month of March.
VPR Long Beach TORA ASCC Sprint Series Update
Posted February 27th 2017: Earlier this month, February 12th, CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing competed in the first round of the TORA American Sports Car Championship Sprint Series at the technical street circuit of Long Beach. VPR’s Nutter, although registered for the series and qualified with a time of 1:20.191, did unfortunately miss the opening round due unavoidable circumstances but will return to the track for team duties ahead of round two of the TORA ASCC series.
With Nutter missing the opening round only VPR’s AnonCaliga and OcR Brock could now be possible points winners for the team. OcR Brock in his very first official race for team VPR also fell foul of some sort of TORA qualifying lobby host error, although Brock qualified with a time of 1:22.156 ahead of team mate AnonCaliga he then had to start back of the grid in the last lobby due to the TORA time keeper’s error. The team did file their concern’s with TORA about the error, an apology was promptly offered by TORA and was accepted by the team and the matter closed.
As the race lobby was a mixed field of faster LMP cars alongside the GT cars the race was overall a textbook race with no major drama or incidents although some LMP drivers did complain about one or two GT drivers at the rear end of the lobby that apparently blocked the faster LMP cars when they tried to pass. VPR’s race remained straightforward although AnonCaliga had a race long battle with GriffusMaximus who was also using a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and that seen both drivers continually swap places through pit stop strategies and on track traffic which led to a “spectacular fun race with Griffus but fairly exhausting race” AnonCaliga later said before giving his thanks to Griffus for the clean battle in a post on the TORA forum.
Meanwhile OcR Brock in his first race for team CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing made a stellar job from a bad situation by racing his way from last on grid up through the pack of GT cars to finally cross the finish line taking 4th in class for the lobby. Team principal and team driver AnonCaliga later said “I’m very pleased with Brock’s first race for the team, he did himself and the team very proud indeed. Brock has fitted into the role and the team very quickly without any issues, in fact he gets on with the team so well and has fitted in so well that I regularly forget that he hasn’t always been a team member, he’s only been with us a matter of months yet we feel like he’s been here with us from day one, very pleased, we’re very pleased with him and his performance in tonight’s opening round of TORA ASCC.”
AnonCaliga didn’t do too badly for the team either as he crossed the finish line taking 1st in class in the lobby. Overall the first round of the ASCC series was a great event and although the team didn’t manage great amounts of points we are all still pleased to see both the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR’s of team VPR cross the finish line intact. With VPR’s Nutter missing in action however it was without doubt a major impact for the team as he was sorely missed as were the higher points he usually brings to the team.
The second round of the TORA ASCC Sprint Series will be held on Sunday March 26th with the long GP layout of Circuit of the Americas being the host to both LMP and GT class competitors.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Register For 2017 TORA TCC Season
Posted February 21st 2017: Team CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing recently revealed they had built and registered three team cars to compete in the 2017 season of the upcoming TORA Touring Car championship which gets underway on March 7th at Brands Hatch Indy layout. The CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing team only managed to take part in the final round of last years TORA TCC season due to other race series commitments but this year plan to compete in the entire season. CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing obviously chose the BMW 125i M Sport as the base to build their three team cars and the livery choice as always would be the dominate branding of Pirtek who remain official sponsors for the CTech Motorsport virtual sim racing team since 2014.
With all three cars built and painted in the team’s main sponsor colours and branding it wasn’t long before testing got underway and where else would that start other than the host track of the seasons opening round, Brands Hatch. VPR decided to maximise the cars capability by deliberately testing in wet conditions, although no wet races are scheduled for the TORA TCC series. Also in dry weather testing the car performed quite well and didn’t need any major tuning adjustments as “the BMW 125i M Sport is pretty good out of the box” said team principal AnonCaliga during the teams second test session.
The team have continued testing and further team testing is scheduled for later this week ahead of the first round of the championship which begins on Tuesday, 7th March.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Set For TORA ASCC At Long Beach
Posted February 12th 2017: Team Virtual Pirtek Racing are at the technical street circuit of Long Beach at 8pm this evening for the opening round of the TORA American Sports Car Championship. The trio of VPR #PirtekPorsche will take to the grid with the 911 GT3 RSR’s dressed in their new blue chrome Pirtek sponsored liveries.
The teams newest sign up, OcR Brock, will also be taking part in this evenings two-hour GT race at Long Beach which is Brock’s first official outing for Virtual Pirtek Racing. The team have tested hard over the past weeks leading up to the main event and are hoping for some good results but most of all to see all three cars cross the finish line without too many in race issues.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Welcome OcR Brock As New Team Member
Posted January 10th 2017: It is with the greatest of pleasure that today we officially announce the addition of our newest team driver, Martin Brock, aka OcR Brock.
Martin has been a virtual racer for many years but hasn't been committed to a virtual team for quite a while, until now. Martin joined VPR just before Christmas and although currently serving his VPR probationary trial period he will soon be dropped into the deep end as he will support his Virtual Pirtek Racing teammates this February in the first round of the upcoming TORA ASCC Sprint Series. VPR have entered a three car team into the new race series at TORA and OcR Brock is listed as the team number three driver and of course VPR will once again be rolling out the very well known and much loved ‘Pirtek Porsche.’ The VPR Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, usually seen dressed in the dark blue base paint and Pirtek logo, will visually surprise many of its followers and supporters this season once the team unveil the new anodised blue Pirtek livery later this month which has now been seen on most VPR cars but yet been seen on the 911 GT3 RSR Pirtek Porsche.
We wish to take this opportunity to wish Martin all the very best of luck for his first official race duties with the team and in the TORA ASCC Sprint Series with VPR. OcR Brock has already brought much enthusiasm and energy to VPR and we expect that he will become a long term member of the VPR family once his trial period has completed.
VPR Set To Take On Challenge Of Endurance Racing
Posted August 4th 2016: It's been a long time coming but a fortnight ago VPR decided it would be a great time to take a step into endurance racing and as a result VPR registered and signed up for the next round of the TORA TEC 2016 championship. The next round will be held this Saturday 6th with Bathurst being the back drop for the 12hour endurance race. Driving for team VPR in this event will be AnonCaliga, Nutter and VPR's newest team member, Mrt Racing. The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is once again the car of choice for Virtual Pirtek Racing and many followers will recall the earlier edition of the well known Pirtek Porsche back in FM4, this time around the Pirtek Porsche has been dressed with VPR's special black, red, grey and gold anniversary livery which will be carried on the Porsche for the remaining rounds of the TORA TEC 2016.
CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing Welcome New Team Members
Posted July 28th 2016: It is with the greatest of pleasure that today on behalf of CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing we announce the addition of our two newest team drivers, Jonnotheone and Mrt Racing.
Many of you will already know fellow TORA member jonnotheone and may well have raced with or against him over the years at TORA or at TURN but after a spell away applying his talent to iRacing we are happy to announce his return to console racing and becoming part of the VPR family.
Mrt Racing is a relatively new member to the TORA community having joined the community in February this year but has already competed in several TORA race events and now joining CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing.
We would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome both drivers to the team and wish them all the very best for their future with us, may it be a long and successful partnership!
Unfortunately, we must now also announce the expulsion of Select Veepz from the CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing team. Veepz became part of the team almost a year ago and shared many successes with the team during his time with us. Select Veepz’s termination from the team came into effect on Monday 25th July after it had been brought to the attention of the team staff of his very serious misconduct and rule breaking which occurred outside of his normal team role and duties. Select Veepz was only a week away from receiving a major promotion within the team when his activities came to the attention of the team management.
Veepz had various internal team infringements whilst driving for CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing but the seriousness of his latest actions could not be excused and so the team and staff all felt and jointly agreed that terminating Veepz from the team was the only acceptable action that could be taken in reflection of his rule breaking that could have been extremely detrimental to the running of CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing. We therefore wish Select Veepz the very best of luck with any future team that may decide to take him into their ranks and hope he does not repeat his serious misconduct within any new team. VPR wish Veepz every success for his future endeavours.
In addition to the above announcement and on behalf of our entire team we also take this opportunity to officially announce and congratulate the promotion of CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing team member FAA xXNutterXx to the position of Team Manager.
Nutter joined VPR little under one year ago and since then has grown within the team substantially. Nutter joined the team and immediately fit right in and became a good friend to all team members past and present. He took on the position of official VPR Team Tuner which he continues to do to this day. Nutter has stepped up to every challenge put before him, he has volunteered to take on tasks within our team without needing to be asked thus enabling back of house team staff to spend additional time focusing on other team related business and projects, he has gone above and beyond what has been asked of him to help his team and those within the team whether they be team drivers or our media staff and because of his loyalty and dedication continually demonstrated along with his many race successes for the team over the year that the VPR staff felt this promotion within our team was the next natural step up for Nutter. Again, speaking on behalf of all our team members we would like to sincerely congratulate FAA xXNutterXx on his promotion to CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing Team Manager and wish him all the very best for his future with us as a top tier staff member and as a fellow team driver.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Take Another TORA Championship!
Posted July 10th 2016: On Thursday July 7th Virtual Pirtek Racing took their second sim race championship of 2016 at Le Mans Bugatti circuit in the season finale of the TORA Touring Masters UK Championship. Although many didn’t hear about VPR’s much deserved win due to minimal coverage from the event organiser who instead focused their attention on the Touring Masters US winning team, nevertheless the poor correspondence from the series organiser wasn’t allowed to cast a shadow over Virtual Pirtek Racing celebrating their well deserved TORA Touring Masters UK Championship title win.
VPR went into the season finale race only points ahead of the chasing team and knew that the lead drivers would need to score major points to enable VPR to take the championship title. In qualifying VPR’s Select Veepz recorded a quali time of 1:52.329 while team mate Nutter clocked a quali time of 1:52.748, AnonCaliga setting a quali time of 1:56.435 placed his car 1st on the grid in lobby C. Select Veepz and Nutter both managed to qualify for lobby A as expected with their blistering fast qualification lap times.
Race results: Lobby A.
Select Veepz 1st.
FAA xXNutterXx 3rd.
Virtual Pirtek Racing End Of Season Total Team Points: 3254
Virtual Pirtek Racing Team Drivers End Of Season Total Points:
FAA xXNutterXx 1256 points. Select Veepz 1099 points. AnonCaliga 1002 points.
Congratulations Once Again TEAM!
TORA Touring Masters Title To Be Decided At Final Race Tonight
Posted July 7th 2016: It's Race Day! Tonight the final race of the TORA Touring Masters Series gets underway at the LeMans Bugatti Circuit. Virtual Pirtek Racing currently lead the series but tonight’s feature race will be the decider whether VPR or the chasing second place team take the season title & become the TORA UK Touring Masters Series Team Champions. VPR held a comfortable lead for most of the season while occuping the top spot in the team standings however after two missed rounds by one of the VPR drivers put the team on the back foot allowing the second place challengers to creep ever closer in points to VPR which will now see the title go down to the wire tonight and make for an undoubtedly exciting and adrenalin fuelled season finale race.
Qualifying commences at 8pm with the feature race following shortly afterwards.
VPR Further Extend Cayman Cup Second Place Team Standing
Posted July 6th 2016: Virtual Pirtek Racing took a 3rd, 4th & 5th place last night in round six of the TORA CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup at Lime Rock Park Raceway. VPR still hold second place overall in the Cayman Cup Series Team Standings.
The next round of the Cayman Cup will be held on the 19th July with Road America playing host to the series teams & privateers.
VPR Awarded Final TORA Formula E Win After Stewards Decision
Posted July 1st 2016: Virtual Pirtek Racing driver Select Veepz who originally came 2nd in the final race of the TORA Formula E season but would have won the race had it not been for the disgruntled driver who TORA awarded the Formula E championship title to. The driver in question known to many for his cheating on the virtual track constantly rammed Veepz throughout the final race of the season at Yas Marina and through his questionable driving style and the corners he cut during the race he finally got past Veepz on the closing lap to take the win. In the last few days however the TORA race stewards over turned the win of said driver and rightfully awarded the final season race win back to VPR's Select Veepz.

Formula E Season Finale Secures VPR 2nd Overall In Championship
Posted June 19th 2016: Friday night was the turn of the electric cars at night in the flood lit circuit of Yas Marina for the final outing for TORA Formula E. The season finale race was set to be no more than an extended testing process for the team as VPR had already secured second place overall in the final team standings for the TORA Formula E series several weeks before. Only eleven cars turned up to race at the final meeting of the season as many privateers and teams decided to opt out of taking part. The last several rounds have seen noticeably decreasing numbers of participants taking part in the series as people began to seemingly lose interest in the TORA Formula E championship.
The eleven cars took to the track to set their best lap times in the seven lap qualifying session. AnonCaliga made several minor alterations to his car at the last minute before the qualifying session began which didn’t pay off for him as he had hoped, AnonCaliga set a qualifying time of 1:05.055 placing his VPR team car 10th on the grid for the race. Select Veepz and Nutter, more at one with their team cars again set the best quali times for the team placing them on the first and second rows of the grid for race start. Veepz posted a 1:02.624 qualifying time placing him 2nd on the grid and Nutter placed his car 3rd on the grid for race start by posting a quali time of 1:02.781.
Select Veepz making an amazing start off the grid for race start soon took the lead with Nutter behind. AnonCaliga still struggling with his car into the tight bends of the circuit wasn’t going to play any huge part in the final race of the season and by his own admission was really only on track for the photo opportunity of the team cars together. Early on in the race AnonCaliga and a privateer driver got tangled up in a minor collision whilst the pair fought for 8th position and although AnonCaliga took the position and held it for several laps the chasing driver seemingly wasn’t going to forget or forgive losing the position because shortly after the same chasing driver began leaning on AnonCaliga into the bends repeatedly running AnonCaliga’s car off the track until it came to a head on lap twelve when the chasing car passed AnonCaliga from what looked to be off track and as the pair drag raced their cars into the penultimate bend of the lap neither would relinquish and brake before the other resulting in AnonCaliga locking up and both taking too much speed into the bend inevitably making contact again. AnonCaliga later said “It was a fair race between the pair of us into the hairpin bend until the other guy made it personal and decided to try taking me out but unfortunately for him he came off worse in that bend.” Due to the contact made between the pair AnonCaliga would eventually need to make an unscheduled pit stop just a lap later for steering repairs. AnonCaliga would eventually finish his race no better than where he started in 11th place.
Meanwhile Select Veepz and Nutter still far out in front of the field where beginning to lap back markers. Select Veepz who led the majority of the race did however trade places with another driver for several of the closing laps as Nutter directly behind in 3rd position waited for one of the two ahead to make a mistake so he could seize his opportunity and take the lead. Throughout the race Select Veepz came under a sustained amount of contact from the driver behind who continually rammed Select Veepz car in attempt to push Select Veepz off track, the chasing driver who was clearly out raced and out driven all season by Select Veepz resorted to deliberately trying to spin Select Veepz at each corner, the very same tactic this particular driver in the series had done throughout the course of the series. In a final act of desperation and an act of ‘winning at all cost’ the chasing driver who had also cut corners for the entirety of the race ran into Select Veepz one final time on the closing lap causing Veepz to miss a turn in point and run a rumble strip which was enough for the driver behind to squeeze past and take the win. Was the win taken fairly we ask? No, but neither was any of his race wins throughout the season and cheating seemingly gets rewarded by the race organiser who sent the race winner a free ticket to the upcoming London ePrix. Nutter, who was sitting just behind Select Veepz and the unnamed cheating competitor took note of the amount of times Select Veepz was verbally abused, pushed, hit, rammed and slammed into throughout the race and decided to make it known that he had watched these actions throughout the entire race and that the race itself was being recorded as proof of the other drivers actions, by speaking out in defence of his team mate Nutter was then met with cross words from the lobby host who had sat for the entire race listening to Select Veepz taking abuse from the unnamed driver yet the lobby host said nothing about this. Nutter finally crossed the line in 3rd place with Select Veepz unfairly being awarded 2nd place after he had led the race for its majority whilst keeping his calm and not saying a word even while being crashed into throughout the race and verbally abused by the other driver.
The VPR team proprietor spoke to the VPR Media team leader after the race and had this to say;
“I have seen the footage from the race and cannot believe the blatant amount of corner cutting carried out by ********** or the amount of times he can be counted and seen deliberately trying to put Select Veepz off track in a disgusting attempt to pass. It seems this person, with the driving etiquette of a public lobby driver, tends to resort to dirty, under handed tactics when he is being out driven and in desperation to take a win by force. He should ask himself if he feels proud knowing that he didn’t actually take a fair win, rather he cheated as usual as he did throughout the season. Our guy Veepz is a far superior virtual racer who raced very fairly all season and kept his head down, in my eyes, to the rest of our team and others I’ve spoken with, it is Veepz that is the clear winner, not to mention, better driver. I also find it strange that the driver in question is utterly rubbish in every other series he’s entered into yet his car in this Formula E series seems questionably unbeatable, I find that very curious, as do many other people.”
VPR Take TORA Touring Masters Top Spot
Posted June 17th 2016: On Thursday evening the VPR team took to the Lime Rock Park circuit for round five of the TORA Touring Masters series.
VPR’s Select Veepz took 2nd place in lobby A, race one and Nutter took 3rd in the same lobby. AnonCaliga in lobby B took 12th place in race one.
Race two and again Select Veepz demonstrated his pace by crossing the finish line taking 1st in lobby A and Nutter followed taking 4th in the same lobby. AnonCaliga in lobby B crossed the line where he started, although AnonCaliga was set to take 8th place until another car collided with his in the closing laps of race two seeing AnonCaliga limp across the line in 12th position.
The final race of the evening was another fourteen lap sprint race and after some fiery exchanges between drivers in lobby B not helped by numerous collisions caused by one driver in the lobby AnonCaliga again set to finish his race well into the top ten until on the final lap, two corners from the finish line a chasing car tried to make a space where there was none, the chasing car tagged AnonCaliga’s VPR BMW M3 spinning him off the track. The car that caused the incident also lost out by then being hit by another fast approaching car. AnonCaliga again finished by limping across the line in 12th in lobby B. Select Veepz in lobby A took 4th and Nutter crossed the line slightly ahead by taking 2nd.
After round five Virtual Pirtek Racing now move from 2nd position in the TORA Touring Masters team standings up into first place overall. Round six of the Touring Masters series will be held at Monza on the 23rd June where VPR hope to further their points tally to keep the team in the top spot of the team standings.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Team Drivers Go On Loan For Le Mans 24 Hour
Posted June 10th 2016: VPR's Veepz and Nutter will race in the virtual version of the Le Mans 24 hour hosted by TORA. Benedict Racing team owner Hunty approached VPR team principal AnonCaliga and asked if the two VPR drivers would be available for loan and interested in filling two seats within the Benedict Racing team to drive in the TORA Le Mans 24 hour. After some discussion all parties agreed and tomorrow will see both VPR drivers take to the Le Mans circuit to take part in the 24 hour endurance race in Benedict Racing's Nissan LMP and the Corvette C7.R.
As part of the driver loan agreement Benedict Racing will carry the Pirtek logo on both their cars which will be driven by VPR's Veepz and Nutter.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Take TORA Touring Masters Win Down Under!
Posted June 3rd 2016: Bathurst was the backdrop last night for round four of the classic touring car series hosted by TORA, Touring Masters. Round four qualifying at the sunny yet technical circuit of Mount Panorama was always going to be a tricky round for most teams and predictions were that crashes galore would be seen, and as many know crashing at Bathurst usually means track blockages, great if you are ahead of such a pile up, race ruining if you are behind or part of such a pile up, last nights round however seen very little major issues with crashes.
Qualifying got underway and AnonCaliga placed his Virtual Pirtek Racing BMW E30 M3 in lobby B with a qualification time of 2:29.200.
VPR’s Nutter was next across the quali finish line after his fifteen minutes on track to set his best lap time. Nutter set a qualification time of 2:22.767 placing him 6th in lobby A for race start. Once again however it was VPR’s own wonder boy that turned up, set a best qualifying time of 2:21.436 and left the quali lobby to await the main race, Select Veepz putting his team car on pole for lobby A.
Lobby B was pretty much uneventful for VPR team owner AnonCaliga who placed his car in 9th place for the rolling race start and after running as high as 6th place during the race AnonCaliga, after an early pit stop, finished his race in 9th place where his race began taking 188 points for the VPR team tally.
In the lobby A race it was VPR’s Select Veepz who almost lead the entire race from his 1st place starting position but after the mandatory pit stop Veepz fell back into the pack behind along with the second place competitor. After several laps of swapping and changing places from first place to second place Veepz once again took the race lead where he remained leading the pack until he crossed the finish line taking the lobby A win and earning VPR another 227 points for the team tally.
Meanwhile VPR’s Nutter who started his race in 5th position in lobby A also swapped places several times with other cars ahead of him until the mandatory pit stop again came into play and as expected Nutter dropped several places into the pack behind who had yet to pit stop. Nutter battled with a lone Volkswagen Golf for 4th place that ran ahead of the VPR BMW, on the closing laps however and just a few corners from the finish line on the final lap the pair made gentle contact and although the race line was Nutter’s during the pass it was Nutter that done the gentlemanly thing and relinquished the position back to the VW Golf driver but in doing so the fast approaching car behind managed to catch and pass Nutter which saw the VPR BMW M3 of Nutter cross the line one place down from his original race starting position. Nutter took 205 points to add to the Virtual Pirtek Racing team standings tally by crossing the finish line in 6th position.
Due to the superb racing and points collected by the two top VPR team drivers, Select Veepz and Nutter, Virtual Pirtek Racing move back again to second place overall in the TORA Touring Masters team championship standings.
As it is officially now the mid season break for the TORA Touring Masters series and many other TORA racing series many competitors will be taking part in the annual virtual TORA 24 hours of Le Mans TEC event on June 11th which means the next round of Touring Masters, round 5, will be held on June 16th with Lime Rock Park being the venue which will host the next three sprint races for the upcoming round of the series.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Take Second Overall In TORA Formula E Series
Posted June 1st 2016: On Friday evening (27th May) the penultimate round of the lengthy TORA Formula E championship got underway at Bernese Alps club circuit. With the Formula E championship already sewn up and awarded to another team, Virtual Pirtek Racing who missed the opening round at the start of the season were simply going through the motions to ensure they secured the second place overall in the Formula E team standings championship.
In qualifying for the race team principal and team driver AnonCaliga placed 9th on the starting grid after posting a qualifying time of 1:21.570 in lobby A. VPR’s Nutter placed his team car on the grid in 4th place for the lobby A race after posting a 1:19.342 qualification time, meanwhile Select Veepz put his VPR team car in 2nd place for the race start in lobby A with his qualifying time of 1:18.790.
As the pack moved off to complete their single parade lap to organise the grid prior the race start it was immediately a disaster for AnonCaliga as one of the cars nearest him began lagging uncontrollably then repeatedly smashing into AnonCaliga’s car causing huge amounts of damage even before the race had got underway. As the parade lap finished and the cars rolled onto their respective slots on the grid again AnonCaliga suffered complete damage from the very same lagging car and due to this AnonCaliga took his car to the very rear of the grid as he knew there was no way he could move his car off the line in time avoiding the cars behind him from smashing into him once the race had got the green light. As expected the race was given the ‘Go’ signal and by the first corner of the opening lap AnonCaliga was already 800 feet behind the racing pack due to the damage he sustained from the lagging car on the warm up lap, AnonCaliga would be unable to pit for repairs until he had completed the first ten laps if he would stand any chance getting back in touch with the leading pack, pitting before the TORA mandatory schedule would have then certainly left him two laps or more down on the leaders.
Lap ten and AnonCaliga pitted for his long awaited and much needed repairs but it was already obvious and inevitable that AnonCaliga would play no further team role in the race as he was already too far behind the other cars on track. Select Veepz and Nutter meanwhile raced fast and hard to ensure their points would see VPR take the second place overall in the team’s championship standings. It was Nutter however who played one of the best strategy plans of the season when an opposing team member said, with some sarcasm, that Nutter wouldn’t finish the race on the battery power he currently had in his VPR team car unless Nutter took another pit stop, but Nutter calmly announced to the lobby that he had clutched his car for the previous several laps whilst going down each hill, that announcement was met with a few faint gasps from certain other drivers as it meant Nutter would not need to make a final pit stop and he could quite easily coast his car across the finish line taking a truly well earned 3rd place on the race podium.
VPR’s Select Veepz also took a superb race podium crossing the finish line in 2nd place which immediately awarded Virtual Pirtek Racing the much deserved 2nd place in the TORA Formula E team’s championship standings. Although Virtual Pirtek Racing missed the inaugural round of the TORA Formula E series it does suggest however that VPR would have taken the overall team standings championship had VPR not missed the opening round. Hopefully TORA announce a second season for this exciting electric racing series in the not to distant future.
The final round of the TORA Formula E championship will be held on Friday June 17th at Yas Marina South circuit and will undoubtedly be a great finale race as it will be held in the dark of night.
TORA Touring Masters Round Three Long Beach Update
Posted May 31st 2016: Thursday evening on the 26th May was round three of the classic touring car series hosted by TORA. The Touring Masters series saw the Long Beach east circuit as the backdrop for the three sprint races of the evening. Virtual Pirtek Racing’s Select Veepz having real life commitments was unable to make this round.
In qualifying it was VPR’s FAA xXNutterXx that got the best out of the teams BMW E30 M3 around the Long Beach circuit setting a qualifying time of 0:58.691 placing him 6th on the grid in lobby A. Team principal and driver AnonCaliga, not finding the grip around the circuit during qualifying, could only manage a best time of 1:00.192 placing him 3rd on the grid in lobby C for the first of three sprint races. Race Results Were As Follows:
Race One, Nutter took 6th in lobby A scoring 68 points, AnonCaliga took 2nd in lobby C and 47 points.
Race Two, Nutter took 7th in lobby A scoring 75 points, AnonCaliga in lobby C took 49 points with a 1st place finish finally breaking his race winning drought.
Race Three, Nutter scored 72 points with his 3rd place finish in lobby A. The nights racing was rounded off with AnonCaliga taking another lobby C 2nd place finish and scoring a further 48 points toward the team’s points tally for the night.
Round four of the Touring Masters series hosted by TORA gets going on Thursday June 2nd with the second feature endurance race of the season taking place at the technically demanding Bathurst circuit.
CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup Series Round Three Update
Posted May 29th 2016: On the evening of Tuesday 24th May the registered teams and competitors of the TORA CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup took to Mazda Laguna Seca for round three of the series.
VPR team owner and driver AnonCaliga set a 1:34.926 in qualifying to place him 9th on the grid in lobby C for the race. Select Veepz placed 9th on the grid in lobby A for the race after setting a qualifying time of 1:32.968. Nutter also qualified for lobby A with a qualification time of 1:32.703 placing him 10th and one spot behind his team mate Veepz.
Race results for Virtual Pirtek Racing were as follows: AnonCaliga took 9th in lobby C. Nutter crossed the finish line in lobby A to take 9th and Veepz took 7th place in lobby A.
The next meeting for this series is round 4 which takes place at Watkins Glen on Tuesday June 7th at 2am (UK) 9pm (EST).
Virtual Pirtek Racing Give Support For LAPS4MD
Posted May 22nd 2016: Virtual Pirtek Racing will show their support for LAPS4MD (Laps for Muscular Dystrophy) by displaying the charities logo on the roof of the team’s trio of Porsche Cayman’s in Tuesday evenings round three of the CJWilson Cayman Cup hosted by TORA.
CTech Motorsport/Virtual Pirtek Racing team proprietor AnonCaliga had this to say earlier last week;
“The team plan to run the LAPS4MD logo on the roof of the three team cars for the rest of the CJWilson Cayman Cup sim race season starting with round 3 on the night of Tuesday May 24th when we race at Laguna Seca. We hope that being the first virtual team to lend our support for this super organisation that other sim racers and teams will do likewise and place the LAPS4MD logo on their virtual cars to help raise awareness of this cruel muscle wasting disease and highlight the work that LAPS4MD do to also raise awareness of the disease by working closely with real world racing drivers and teams who already display the logo on their race cars. I mean it doesn’t cost anything to display the LAPS4MD logo on your virtual race car but by doing so you help raise awareness and possibly may just help change lives.”
The Virtual Pirtek Racing team will be on the virtual track this coming Tuesday evening at 9pm (EST) 2am (UK) for the third round of the exciting single make sim race championship hosted by TORA and sponsored by real world race outfit CJWilson Racing.
CTech Motorsport Add Further Trophies To Team Cabinet
Posted May 21st 2016: CTech Motorsport on Wednesday 18th May took to the track at Nurburgring, suitably nicknamed the Green Hell, for the final race of the TORA Ginetta Spec Cup Championship.
CTech Motorsport entered only two cars into this series both racing under the CTech Motorsport banner due to the championship being held on ProjectCars and the absence of an in-game livery editor meant that the normal main team livery of Pirtek couldn’t be applied and thus pointless running under the Virtual Pirtek Racing team name.
Select Veepz missed the opening round of the Ginetta Spec Cup series but nonetheless he took the top spot in the overall driver’s championship standings and Nutter took 7th overall in the driver’s standings. The two driver’s points together awarded CTech Motorsport 2nd overall in the end of series TORA Ginetta Spec Cup team standings following on from a previous success just days before when VPR took the championship team title in the final round of the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT series.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Take TORA PGT Championship
Posted May 20th 2016: On Sunday May 15th the Virtual Pirtek Racing trio along with their BMW M4 Coupe’s took to the twisty turns and few long straights of Circuit of the Americas for what would be the season finale of the exciting TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT series.
The final round of the series had gone down to the wire with either VPR or MVG able to take the overall teams championship. Qualifying got underway and team proprietor and driver AnonCaliga placed a quali time of 2:18.854 placing him 17th on the grid in lobby A. VPR’s Nutter was next up with a quali time of 2:14.781 placing him 5th on the grid in lobby A and topping off the internal team quali times was Veepz who placed 4th in lobby A with a qualifying time of 2:14.114. Circuit of the Americas was notably not a preferred circuit that favoured the VPR BMW M4 Coupe’s but the VPR team and drivers were well aware of this going into race one which meant that if the two top drivers could just stay ahead of the MVG drivers then VPR would be set to take the championship.
Race one got underway and apart from the expected bumps and bangs from the usual suspects the race itself was pretty much non entertaining until later on in the race whilst leading Veepz lagged out of the race sending a devastating blow to the VPR crew as the maths hadn’t taken into consideration that Veepz’s old lag issues would come back to haunt him, as AnonCaliga wasn’t in a position toward mid to back of the field to prop up the team points all hopes for the teams championship now lay with Nutter who was still well ahead of the two top scoring MVG drivers. By end of race one AnonCaliga crossed the line back where he had started in 17th place taking 109 points for the team, Veepz failing to complete race one being ranked on the live timing as a DNF did still manage a 107 point score for the team for the majority of race distance that he had put in before the inevitable lag issue raised its head. Meanwhile it was VPR’s Nutter that scored the majority points for the team in race one finishing 6th, one place back from his starting position, scoring the VPR team a much needed 120 points for the championship tally.
After a little break for refreshments the Lobby A grid took to their virtual cars for the final time in the TORA PGT series for what would be the deciding race, would Virtual Pirtek Racing claim their first ever championship win as a team or would MVG snatch the title rendering VPR runners up? After the mandatory parade lap the cars made their way from the final turn at COTA on the start finish straight for the rolling start.
With Veepz recovered from his race one lag out he managed to return in the nick of time for race two but due to his previous race lag out Veepz would have to start back of the Lobby A grid as per the TORA race regulations. Nutter was the only VPR driver far enough toward the front of the pack to make any difference to the team standings whilst AnonCaliga was toward the back section of the pack three places ahead of Veepz. Due to the unpredictable lag out unfortunately suffered by Veepz in race one making him start race two and the back of the field the VPR team were immediately at a disadvantage and taking the championship win was now looking more impossible than probable. The call came across the driver’s headsets ‘Go, Go, Go!’ and race two, the final deciding race of the season had begun with a pack of GT cars hurling their way toward the upward climb of the start/finish straight and onto the slowest, first tight left hand bend of the COTA circuit. After the chaos of turn one and by the the time Twitch viewers, including the drivers had regained their normal breathing pattern Veepz had taken four cars ahead of him and was on a mission to get back up to the front of the pack in his natural habitat where he rightly belonged alongside team mate Nutter.
Nutter, close to the number three position car gave chase and pressuring a car in front to make a minor mistake allowing Nutter to gain a position while Veepz continued to make progress through the mid field. AnonCaliga meanwhile notably stating that this particular track is his ‘worst and most disliked track’ had to nurse damaged steering and transmission damage after an overzealous charge by one driver attempting to pass Caliga caused a three car shunt sending Caliga into the pits early for repairs and ending his own charge for the remainder of the race, now it was done to both Nutter and Veepz to bring the championship home to the VPR virtual garage.
The final lap approached and CTech Motorsport Twitch viewers including sponsors who tuned in for the final race all sat on the edge of their seats waiting to see if the VPR team had done enough to secure the championship win. First across the finish line was Nutter who took 4th and nailing 122 points to the team collection of season points, Veepz who made an amazing push from the very back of the field up through the pack crossed the finish line in 7th raising the question that had there been a few additional laps in the final race could he have taken a podium finish? Veepz brought home 119 points in the final race of the season and AnonCaliga who simply wanted the race to end brought up the rear in 18th place with 108 points for team VPR.
First indications immediately after the race showed that Virtual Pirtek Racing, despite the race one lag out suffered by Veepz, had indeed taken the teams standings championship for the series but having no official tweet of confirmation or congratulations from series organiser TORA or series sponsor Base Performance Simulators to cement the win left the team unsure if they had done enough to take the overall season title. It was due to the VPR back of house media team and team driver Nutter that finally confirmed that Virtual Pirtek Racing had indeed won the first ever season of TORA’s Base Performance Simulators Production GT and lifted the team standings title which is the first full series championship to ever be won by VPR since changing from an independent to a team in the later part of 2015.
Although no prizes were supplied by TORA on behalf of the series sponsors for the winners of the series or the overall championship winning team at the end of the season it does however allow bragging rights for those who won single races throughout the season and overall championship team winners, VPR.
The final points total scored by VPR over the PGT season was 2764. In the individual drivers championship out of a total 59 drivers registered in the series and calculating the mandatory dropped round score, AnonCaliga took 15th overall with 1041 points for the season, Select Veepz took 7th overall in the individual drivers standings with 1157 total season points but it was VPR’s Nutter that took the win in the internal team rankings with 1177 total season points awarding him 5th overall in the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT drivers championship.
The championship win couldn’t have come at a better time for Virtual Pirtek Racing as they had just agreed and announced another real world sponsorship deal with respected and globally known brand Autoglym just before the final round of the PGT series. On behalf of the VPR Media Team we welcome Autoglym and thank them for their interest into our virtual race team. As a final word, Stephen and Paul from the little known and notoriously quiet, back of house, VPR Media Team responsible for these write ups, team liveries and general running of most social media operations would like to say a huge congratulations to Virtual Pirtek Racing team drivers AnonCaliga, Select Veepz and Nutter on their first team championship win and look forward to many more championship wins together in the future, very well done lads and thank you!
Virtual Pirtek Racing Hoping To Achieve Champions Status
Posted May 15th 2016: This evening the VPR team head out onto the virtual track at Circuit of the Americas for the season finale of the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT. The final round of the season has gone down to the wire between VPR and MVG, although VPR have lead the team standings for some time and still currently leading the championship, it is however mathematically possible for MVG to still clinch the title in this final round.
Qualifying for the closing round begins at 8pm with the first of two races starting around 9pm.

Virtual Pirtek Racing Formula E At Watkins Glen Post Race Review
Posted May 9th 2016: Last Friday evening (May 6th) all the teams and individual privateers and competitors taking part in the TORA Formula E series gathered at the short layout of the famous Watkins Glen circuit for the first race since the mid season break.
Qualifying got under way and times dramatically began to fall by each lap and by the end of the six lap qualifying session AnonCaliga posted a 1:14.587 best lap time placing him 11th in lobby A. Select Veepz posted a qualifying lap time of 1:12.168 granting him a front row for the race placing him 2nd on the grid and Nutter closely followed Veepz posting a best quali lap time of 1:12.581 awarding Nutter with 3rd position on the race starting grid.
The race itself was the normal buzz of electric powered awesomeness and also wasn’t without its share of spills and thrills. Veepz held the 2nd position for the majority of the race until contact between his car and that of a back markers car forced Veepz to opt for an unscheduled pit stop for car repairs, once Veepz got back on track his 2nd position of the race had all but gone and as his pit strategy had now been ruined after the contact with a back marker Veepz would be seen pitting once again on the closing laps of the race for battery level replenishing, even with the unscheduled pit stops putting Veepz out of sync he did still manage to cross the finish line and clinch a well deserved 6th place and 95 points toward the team tally for this round. Meanwhile team principal AnonCaliga placed 10th and taking 91 points for the team, but by end of the race it was evident however that the night belonged to team driver Nutter who drove a faultless race and crossed the finish line in taking a very well deserved 2nd place and claiming most points of the night for VPR with 99 points potted for the team.
Having missed the inaugural round of this series and making a climb up the teams’ championship to currently hold 2nd position overall in the TORA teams’ standings is indeed not something to be smirked at but it is probably impossible at this point for Virtual Pirtek Racing to win the top step in the team standings by the end of this series. Team principal AnonCaliga told the VPR Media Team last week,
“Yea we missed the very first round of this series but to work our way up from bottom to be now sitting in second place overall is magnificent and I’m truly proud of the whole team and I will say this to anyone who may be secretly grinning and rubbing their hands together behind closed chat groups in great delight about their own team position within this series… imagine what VPR could have done had we taken part in the opening round, wow now that’s a worrying fact!”
The next round of the TORA Formula E championship, which will be the penultimate round of this series, takes place on the little used but highly technical Bernese Alps Club Circuit layout on Friday May 27th at 20:00.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Shake Down FormulaE Cars After Mid Season Break
Posted May 6th 2016: Virtual Pirtek Racing were eager to dust off the team’s trio of electric powered Formula E cars after the lengthy mid season break and get on track last night for final team practice and some final tuning ahead of tonight’s round of the TORA Formula E Championship. The previous round held back in March at Long Beach was the last time the TORA Formula E cars seen light of day but all that will change tonight as we head into the sixth round of the eight round electric championship.
Watkins Glen is also the location for tonight’s round six of the championship. Action from Watkins Glen gets going at 8pm and is sure to bring twitch viewers watching live an entertaining race due to the long straights and the few and far between fast corners of the short format layout of the international track being used tonight.
Virtual Pirtek Racing head into round six currently holding second place overall out of twelve teams within the TORA Formula E Team Championship standings even though VPR missed the opening round of the series and only signed to the series just a few days before round two. In the driver standings championship team principal AnonCaliga is currently placed 11th from the 66 drivers competing in the series. FAA xXNutterXx holds 8th place overall in the driver’s standings, meanwhile Select Veepz is just ahead currently sitting in 6th position overall.
CTech Motorsport Take The Double At TORA Ginetta Spec Cup
Posted May 5rd 2016: Select Veepz and Nutter driving under the CTech Motorsport banner took to the Watkins Glen track on Wednesday evening in the pair of team Ginetta’s for round four of the TORA Ginetta Spec Cup Championship. Both of the Ginetta Spec Cup races were won by Select Veepz, Nutter took a 9th and 10th place finishing position for this round. CTech Motorsport currently occupy second position in the overall team standings for the TORA Ginetta Spec Cup Championship.
The next round of this series, which will be the penultimate round, takes place on Wednesday 11th May with Catalunya as the back drop. The first race of the next round will be an evening race which will then be followed by a night time race.
TORA Base Performance Simulators PGT Post Race Review
Posted May 3rd 2016: Sunday May 1st seen all teams and privateers competing in the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT assemble at sunny Catalunya Spain for the penultimate round of the series.
Qualifying immediately took a turn for the worst for one of the three Virtual Pirtek Racing drivers when one of the lobby hosts for the evening failed to send a qualifying invite to the VPR driver which would see our team driver, Select Veepz, having to start at the back of the grid in lobby B due to not being able to set a qualifying time. Team driver Nutter set a qualifying time of 1:53.850 which placed him in lobby A and would see him start race one 9th on the grid. Team principal AnonCaliga placed a qualifying time of 1:57.039 and placed him in lobby B with a starting grid position of 7th.
Race one got underway and straight from the back of the lobby B grid Select Veepz immediately drove around three drivers including AnonCaliga and began making his way through the field. By the first mandatory pit stop Veepz had taken the lead and massed a great lead over the chasing pack however this would shortly end when Veepz rolled his car which ended him back in the pits for repairs.
AnonCaliga opted for an early pit stop in an attempt to jump several drivers who had not yet took their first pit stop. Nutter in lobby A also had some great battles with a group of cars and made steady progress through his field until the mandatory pit stops came into play.
Race one finished with Nutter taking 7th in lobby A, Veepz took 5th in lobby B and AnonCaliga took 8th place also in lobby B
Race two would see the usual grid lining up for race start in order of their finishing positions from race one. Nutter would start 7th on the lobby A grid, Veepz in lobby B would start from 5th on the grid and Caliga, also in lobby B, would start 8th on the grid. Race start and the grid in both lobbies got away cleanly however in lobby B and the second bend AnonCaliga had contact from an opposing team driver which seemed like an attempt by the driver to spin Caliga’s car out, luckily, AnonCaliga was able to stay in control of his Pirtek BMW M4 Coupe and continue his race. Up front in lobby B Select Veepz was already making progress working from his 5th position up to 3rd by the end of the first lap. Nutter in his lobby also had to deal with contact from the surrounding pack of cars in his lobby.
By the time of the first mandatory pit stops Veepz was holding 2nd position in lobby B, AnonCaliga 7th and Nutter in his lobby held 8th position. After pit stop one had been completed Veepz took the lobby lead soon after and AnonCaliga still holding 7th position then had a somewhat lonely race for the period up to the second mandatory pit stops. All VPR drivers suffered minor scuffs, bumps and bruises on their Pirtek sponsored BMW’s in the closing stages of race two and AnonCaliga in particular had a big moment when one driver in his lobby was hit by an oncoming car from behind which then caused all three cars to make contact pushing AnonCaliga’s car sideways around corner four, fortunately only panel damage was caused to the VPR BMW, although AnonCaliga did lose one position due to the contact made to his car. Race two ended with Nutter taking 11th in lobby A, AnonCaliga took 7th in his lobby B race but it was Select Veepz scoring best for Virtual Pirtek Racing after what started as a bad round for him when he was not sent a qualifying lobby invite. Select Veepz took 1st place in lobby B, winning with a massive lead ahead of the rest of the field.
AnonCaliga collected a round points tally of 211 points, Select Veepz brought the Pirtek team 220 points and Nutter topped off the Virtual Pirtek Racing team points collection for the penultimate round with a 234 points tally. Virtual Pirtek Racing head into the series finale still leading the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT team standings with a marginal lead of 61 points over the second place team.
The final round of this series stands to be quite the spectacle as the VPR team enter the finale which could see Virtual Pirtek Racing be crowned team champions or they could come second overall in the final team standings, it all goes down to the wire of the final two races of round six. The season finale races will be held on Sunday May 15th at 8pm (UK) with Circuit of the Americas being the final destination and closing circuit of what has been a truly exciting and nail biting series.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Race Review Of CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup
Posted April 29th 2016: With its high curved banking and technical twisting infield section Daytona was the setting for round one of the new TORA Porsche racing series sponsored by real world race team CJWilson Racing. The TORA CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup series has seen record amounts of competitors from around the globe sign up for the ten round series partly for the prizes on offer to each round winner, prizes for series overall winner and the best prize of all, the chance of becoming a real world race driver and possibly driving for CJWilson Racing.
Talk of the TORA CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup went viral on social networks further raising the anticipation and excitement on the build up to this series opener. The internet became swamped this week of talk about the series due to the association of CJWilson Racing and their two real world drivers who are set to take part in several of the virtual races throughout the season. With joint association from various sponsors and companies such as Sonic Tools, Continental Tyre, New Balance, Logitech, One Capital and the IMSA, to name but just a few, this highly competitive, high adrenalin and highly physical race series is set to demonstrate the best of the virtual racing worlds skill and give followers an exciting spectacle to watch.
Qualifying for round one on Wednesday night (9pm US & 2am UK) would see lap records for the virtual version of the Daytona track tumble by seconds with each of the four allowed qualifying laps. Virtual Pirtek Racing entered three drivers into the series but due to technical issues suffered by one of the team drivers meant he would miss the opening round and Virtual Pirtek Racing would only see two of their drivers compete in the inaugural round. The Pirtek Porsche has become somewhat virtually famous over the past three years and to continue with the theme Virtual Pirtek Racing unveiled the new Pirtek Porsche Cayman GTS just days before the series got underway.
Select Veepz and AnonCaliga, representing the team, took to the qualifying lobby and completed their four qualifying laps. Select Veepz set a qualifying time of 1:52.536 securing him a 6th place grid position in lobby A. CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing team principal and driver AnonCaliga set a qualifying time of 1:55.374 which would see him start 18th on the race grid in lobby B.
By race start it was immediately evident that the level of driving by all competing in the series was of a very high standard thus making for a very challenging opening round to the series. Select Veepz demonstrated his talent and stayed on the tail of the few cars in front of him which were evidently better equipped with a more suitable setup for the demanding Daytona track, nonetheless Veepz swapped top grid positions throughout the race and managed his tyres and pit strategy tremendously well which seen Veepz claim a 4th position for the first race of the new exciting Cayman series.
AnonCaliga also keep glued to the pack in his lobby B race and swapped positions as he moved through the pack and held 8th place for several laps after a group of cars ahead of him collided which gifted AnonCaliga an easy pass to gain the 8th position, however by the first pit stop Anon would drop back down the field to 14th position. AnonCaliga held the 14th place for several laps until a competitor cut across the front of his car entering the notorious banking at Daytona which caused both cars to collide with the concrete wall. Although AnonCaliga’s car wasn’t suffering major damage from the collision it did however see him drop to the very back of the field again. Mid race and another pit stop would see AnonCaliga gain back two places but his car was losing out in speed to others on the track due to the team opting to use a sixth gear in their pre race testing setup when Daytona is more favourable to five speed cars, due to this lag in power it wasn’t long before AnonCaliga was once again swallowed up by the two cars behind and would see him finish the race in 17th place.
After the race both drivers commended all the competitors that took part in the first round of the series. Both AnonCaliga and Select Veepz spoke of how amazed they were with the high level of race craft and competitiveness they witnessed throughout the one-and-a-half-hour race. Later it was noted that the high level of driving was not just witnessed in lobbies A and B which Virtual Pirtek Racing qualified but also in lobby C making for a thoroughly hard, challenging and exciting series to come over the next several months of this race series.
Round two of the TORA CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup series takes place on Tuesday, May 10th and will see the bumpy concrete surfaces of Sebring as the backdrop of what will undoubtedly be another physically challenging yet spectacular race.
Virtual Pirtek Racing currently hold 8th place in the team standings after the opening round of the series. The long ten round series will come to a conclusion in August. More information and updates for this series can be found on the official CJWilson Racing website (www.cjwilsonracing.com) or alternatively visit the TORA website (www.theonlineracingassociation.com) for regular race updates and live timing.

Pirtek Sponsored CTech Motorsport Unveil Trio Of Pirtek Porsche
Posted April 26th 2016: CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing have registered and unveiled their VPR team trio of Porsche Cayman’s into the TORA CJWilson Racing Cayman Cup Series. Real world race team CJWilson recently launched a virtual race series in association with TORA, Logitech and Forza Motorsport which features a virtual version of the CJWilson race car. The ten round CJWilson Cayman Cup series begins this evening with round one at Daytona.
Apart from major prizes awarded by Logitech to the winners of each round and overall series winner, CJWilson are also using this virtual race series to talent scout for a possible future virtual to real world racing driver with the possibility to join the real world CJWilson Racing team and pilot one of the team’s cars, far fetched? not at all as this has already been done quite successfully before. Previously when Nissan, Sony PlayStation and Gran Turismo teamed together to find a virtual racing driver that could transcend from virtual racer to real world racing driver and they achieved their goal with such drivers as Jann Mardenborough. In 2008, Yamauchi's studio, Polyphony Digital, teamed up with Sony and Nissan to create GT Academy, a competition within the Gran Turismo racing games that gives winners a chance to become real world racing drivers. The contest started with a series of time trial events in the game, with the winners flown to Silverstone in England to take part in a reality TV show and racing driver boot camp that determines which player will be put behind the wheel of a real racing car by Nissan and it was Mardenborough who was one of the lucky few who made the leap from gamer to real racing driver and began racing for the Nissan Nismo division in GT racing. Since then many more real world race teams and motorsport governing bodies have recognised that the virtual racer needs to be taken far more seriously and some famous former racing drivers being quoted in saying that the virtual racing world is the future pool to talent scout and pluck new drivers from to race in the real world of motorsport racing.
You can keep up to date with series standings and results at the TORA website (theonlineracingassociation.com) and regular series updates can also be found on the official CJWilson Racing website (cjwilsonracing.com).
Virtual Pirtek Racing Take Double Podiums
Posted April 22nd 2016: CTech Motorsport/Virtual Pirtek Racing celebrated double podiums last Sunday evening in round four of the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT series from Monza. VPR team drivers Select Veepz and Nutter both placing solid times during the six lap qualifying session ensured their cars placed on the first few rows of the grid for race one. Nutter set a qualification time of 1:51.376 which guaranteed him a 3rd place grid position for race one, meanwhile Select Veepz pushed in a qualification time of 1:51.162 which secured him a 2nd place grid position just ahead of his team mate for race one. CTech Motorsport/Virtual Pirtek Racing team owner/driver AnonCaliga placed 9th on the grid for race one after posting a qualifying time of 1:53.405.
Race one seen both VPR drivers Veepz and Nutter swap positions multiple times with cars ahead of them until the first of the mandatory pit stops came into play which broke the field up. AnonCaliga after his second and final pit stop of the race soon realised he had pitted a lap earlier than the teams planned strategy and this would cause him to drive conservatively. On the closing laps of race one AnonCaliga at one point allowed the two chasing cars from behind by him rather than burn fuel racing the two cars to stay ahead of them, thus ensuring he could make it to the finish line without running out of fuel.
Nutter drove flawlessly and finished race one in 3rd position claiming 123 points for the team tally and Veepz brought the team another win taking 1st place and 125 points to the team total, meanwhile AnonCaliga did cross the finish line, albeit running on vapours, claiming 14th position and 112 points for the team.
Race two as usual would see all drivers start the race in order of their finishing position from race one. Veepz led the field out on the parade lap followed by Nutter in 3rd place on row two and AnonCaliga would start in 12th place for race two, moving up two grid positions due to two drivers ahead of AnonCaliga from other teams not returning to compete in the second and final race of the evening. The second race of the evening was a carbon copy for Veepz and Nutter. Select Veepz took first place while his nearest team mate FAA xXNutterXx took his second 3rd win of the night.
Round Five of the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT will see all teams and drivers head to the famous sunshine bleached circuit of Catalunya on May 1st for the penultimate round of the championship.
CTech Motorsport Take On TORA Ginetta Spec Cup Series
Posted April 20th 2016: CTech Motorsport entered a solo Ginetta into the TORA Spec Cup series last Wednesday. The CTech Motorsport entry into the series was a very last minute decision which gave no time for testing. CTech Motorsport’s driver, Nutter, decided he would like to try his hand in the series hosted by TORA on ProjectCARS and after a brief discussion with team owner AnonCaliga, both then decided that the team should indeed have representation in the Spec Cup Ginetta series. Nutter, drove the solo Ginetta entry for the team at Oulton Park last Wednesday evening which seen both races declared as wet. In one of the races of the evening Nutter suffered slight frontal damage to his Ginetta and then later a mix up during a scheduled pit stop which seen the pit crew mistakenly fit his Ginetta with slick tyres instead of wet tyres cost Nutter valuable positions and time once he did re-join the track.
Round two of the TORA Spec Cup series gets the green light this evening (Wednesday 20th) with Silverstone being the backdrop for race one and two. Race one will use the Silverstone International layout for twenty-one laps and race two will use the GP layout for fifteen laps. Nutter, racing under the CTech Motorsport banner as a privateer heads to Silverstone fourth overall in the privateer standings with 233 points.
TORA Production GT Round 3 Post Race Review & Analysis
Posted March 30th 2016: On the evening of Sunday 27th March TORA held round three of the Base Performance Simulators Production GT at Hockenheimring, this round would be the last chance for teams and drivers to maximise their points standings within the championship before the teams competing broke off for the Easter break of this six round series.
Virtual Pirtek Racing went into this round still occupying top place in the team standings and with their target set on scoring a full bank of points to see them securely stay on the top step until after the Easter break at the next round on April 17th, however things didn’t fully go to plan for team VPR as they had in team testing pre race.
In qualifying, team principal AnonCaliga could only manage an 11th place grid position in lobby two after putting in a disappointing qualifying time of 1:51.469 which was a far step back from his late 1:47’s and 48’s that he had been putting in during private testing before the race. Next up for team VPR was Nutter who qualified 11th place on the grid in lobby one after he set a time of 1:46.656 which again was considerably slower than that which Nutter had been setting during private testing and team practice. Finally, it was Select Veepz to qualify and although once again slightly slower than his personal best lap time set during team practice and testing Veepz did however set the best lap time out of the VPR trio by setting a 1:46.512 placing him in 9th position on the grid for race one start in lobby one.
Race one was the usual battle for Veepz and Nutter in lobby one with competing faster cars and slower cars, which considering turned out to be a pretty quiet race for the two VPR drivers. AnonCaliga in lobby two also had a pretty eventless first race apart from a couple of minor collisions by some overly eager opposing drivers that caused minor to medium damage to Anon’s Pirtek BMW M4.
Race results came in and by the end of the first race of round three it was Veepz who came out best for Virtual Pirtek Racing with a 5th place finishing position scoring him 121 points to add to the team pot. Nutter finished in 11th position from where he started the race, although many higher positions were held by him during the race but after the second of two mandatory pit stops Nutter found himself up against cars better suited for pit strategy at Hockenheim than that of our VPR BMW’s, nevertheless Nutter collected a worthy 115 points for the team. AnonCaliga took a step back from his original grid starting position finishing 12th after having to add an extra, but unscheduled, pit stop to his plans to repair damage to his steering caused by another driver, Anon brought home 97 points for his finishing position.
The final race of this round would see all drivers on grid starting race two in the positions they finished race one which immediately put Veepz in the higher points scoring position for the team starting in 5th position, Nutter started 11th and Anon 12th on his lobby grid. The race for Anon was to be immediately a disappointment, by lap two he had once again incurred damage to his BMW M4 caused by two further drivers out braking themselves and colliding with his car. Later, toward the final laps of race two Anon found himself once again with damage to his car when one of the same drivers who collided with his VPR BMW earlier in the race again came into contact with Anon whilst battling for position, however this particular battle would later see a steward’s inquiry being launched by team VPR, the outcome of which has yet to be decided on by the stewarding team. Anon took 103 points for his 10th place lobby finishing position.
Things weren’t at all much better for Veepz and Nutter in lobby one as just three laps before the end of the race and holding 2nd place in his lobby Nutter ran out of fuel. Sadly, too far away from the pits to be able to coast his car back for refuelling Nutter claimed his first ever DNF since joining Virtual Pirtek Racing although he did however collect DNF points which added a further 96 points to the team tally.
To add further insult to injury for team Virtual Pirtek Racing Veepz also fell victim to a DNF but the cause of his non finish was more internet connection issues than car related, Veepz unfortunately lagged out of his lobby just one lap after Nutter on lap 18 where he had reportedly been holding 5th position until losing connection with the server. DNF points also claimed by Veepz added a further 98 points to the team end of race tally. In total after race one and two had been completed the VPR team mates brought home a total of 630 points between them to add to the team scoreboard and although this round has so far been the worst round for the team, Virtual Pirtek Racing still hold the number one spot on the TORA Production GT team standings.
On Monday, earlier this week, the VPR Media team felt that team principal Anon by now would have got over the previous night’s race upset that we were daring enough to ask him for a response. He had this to say:
How do I feel, I feel we could have done better as a team but I personally could have done much better if not for a couple of competing drivers racing beyond their capability which caused me damage to my car and loss of places, hey it is what it is and we just look forward to getting back onto the virtual black stuff for round four next month. Our two guys Veepz and Nutter both know they were slightly slower than what they had been during private test sessions on the lead up to this round but to be honest, we as a team, I, couldn’t ask more from them. Veepz and Nutter, lets be truthful, are working with a car that’s not the fastest on track, isn’t the best handling nor is it any lightweight but they both do a tremendous job with what they’ve got to work with, helped of course by Nutter who is the team master tuner now as well as team driver.
It was unfortunate that Veepz lagged out in race two, can’t be helped, it happens to us all and no doubt somewhere down the line it will happen again but no matter what he brought points back and that’s what is important. Nutter, got to feel for the guy to be sitting second place and three laps before the end of the race you run out of fuel, annoying is an understatement.
I don’t yet know the reason how or why exactly Nutter came to get so low and run out of fuel particularly as fuel in this car is something we, as a team, have regularly spoken about and keep tabs on during each race but at the same time I’m not angry at all about it as I’ve done the very same thing myself whilst in third position back in round one of this series and that was just a few corners before the end of the race. I think you just keep telling yourself, “yeah there’s enough fuel to get me across that line” but as we have all found out now at VPR, there’s never enough even when you think there’s enough!
We’re looking forward to round four after these short few weeks break and heading to Monza Italy. Early indications tell us the car, the VPR BMW M4 likes this circuit but like everything we just have to wait until the lights go out to see how accurate our info is and to see what the other teams have brought to the table.
So while we’re all on a few weeks mid series break I’m personally looking forward to the start of the real world BTCC season and seeing our official sponsor, Pirtek UK / Pirtek Racing doing well in the new Motorbase Ford Focus at the first round of the 2016 BTCC season at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Latest VPR News After Round 5 Of TORA Formula E
Posted March 20th 2016: Virtual Pirtek Racing took to the grid on Friday night at the famous street circuit of Long Beach in California to qualify for round five of the TORA Formula E championship. VPR team principal AnonCaliga missed out on qualifying and so no time was set by him for the session. Select Veepz set a qualifying time of 0:54.745 placing him in 2nd position on the grid for the race and Nutter qualified in 3rd position with a time of 0:54.866.
The main event seen AnonCaliga start from 14th position at the very back of the grid due to not taking part in qualifying and having not set any qualifying time. Just a few laps after the race had got underway the safety car was called for whilst several cars that had collided with the tyre wall and each other were cleared from blocking turn one. The resulting safety car for the incident meant that the pack had to bunch up which cancelled out any distance Veepz and Nutter had put between themselves and the cars behind. After several laps behind the safety car the race once again got underway but as the safety car peeled off AnonCaliga was caught out and the pack pulled half way down the main straight toward turn one before Anon had got back onto the power cycle of his Pirtek sponsored formula E car. Meanwhile Veepz and Nutter at the front end of the pack in second and third position made easy work of staying with each other and the leading car.
Only a few laps went by before the safety car was called for again which naturally backed the pack up again cancelling out any distance built by each driver on the street circuit. Finally, once the race got underway again Veepz set fast lap after fast lap and was ever so slightly faster than the lead car throughout the entire race but couldn’t find a safe way by. Nutter meanwhile did battle with a Benedict Racing team car that managed to slip by him just before the last safety car came on track. The chase with the Benedict car lasted a few laps before Nutter gained momentum from out braking the Benedict car, that made great efforts to stay ahead, but Nutter slipped by just at a bend and passed the fourth placed Benedict Racing car before entering the back straight.
Soon it was time to pit for the mandatory stop stipulated by the TORA Formula E rules. Veepz re-joined the track in thirteenth position while Nutter re-joined fifteenth which brought backmarkers into the equation for both VPR drivers and most of the field who pitted mid race. Once the backmarkers had completed their stops both Veepz and Nutter had regained their original positions at the front of the field. AnonCaliga meanwhile had a reasonably quiet race which would see him later cross the finish line taking tenth position and 91 points. Veepz and Nutter both continued to race hard with great pace and other than a little unfounded grumbling from another team member aimed at Nutter the remainder of the race went by pretty quietly. The race concluded with Nutter bringing home third position and 98 points while Veepz took second position and bagged 99 points to add to the team tally.
After round five at Long Beach Virtual Pirtek Racing now occupy second place overall in the TORA Formula E team standings. Round six of this series will be held on May 6th with Watkins Glen being the backdrop for the event.
Latest VPR Team News From TORA GT & Formula E
Posted March 17th 2016: On Sunday March 13th round two of the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT was held at Silverstone. Virtual Pirtek Racing drivers Nutter and Veepz both qualified in lobby one, meanwhile VPR team principal AnonCaliga qualified in lobby two with a 2:10.682 qualifying time. Nutter placed a respectable qualifying time of 2:08.426 very closely chased down by team mate Veepz who set a 2:08.535 qualifying time.
Race one got underway and the Virtual Pirtek Racing trio felt more confident with the BMW’s fuel economy after a few minor tweaks during the off period between round one and round two of the series. Race one seen Nutter and Veepz battle with the field and each other whilst also having some notable nail biting moments when running over Silverstone’s notoriously slippy rumble strips which sent their cars side ways making for some thrilling Twitch viewing. Nutter finished race one in 9th position earning the team 117 points and Veepz crossed the line to take 11th place with 115 points added to the team tally. AnonCaliga in lobby two crossed the line in 16th position earning 93 points after also having several close encounters with the Silverstone rumble strips and falling victim to a mid race crash ahead of him which caused one car to spin across the track clipping AnonCaliga’s BMW M4 coupe causing rear suspension damage dropping him further down the field after an unscheduled pit stop.
Race two got underway and Veepz immediately found his pace passing one group of cars moving Veepz further up the field. Nutter drove a smooth race in race two punching in fast lap after fast lap although toward the end of race two Nutter once again had a moment with one of the rumble strips but on this occasion it sent his BMW into a huge left, right tank slapper at around 120 mph but Nutter proving to be quite the driver brought the car under control very quickly without losing much, if any, time from his lap. AnonCaliga had a quiet race in his lobby but after the first of his scheduled pit stops he came up against a group of cars which Anon battled to keep with for several laps but soon realised in doing so he was costing himself valuable lap time so after following the pack closely for seven laps Anon stopped for his second and final pit stop of the race. Veepz finished race two taking a superb 6th place and an additional 120 points, Nutter crossed the line in 12th place taking 114 race points for the team and AnonCaliga finished his lobby two race in 13th position adding a further 99 points to the team collection.
After round two of the TORA Production GT Virtual Pirtek Racing now currently occupy the top spot in the championship team standings with a team total of 916 points closely followed in second position with 909 points is team F4H, however F4H decided after round two to suddenly withdraw their entire team entry with no plans in competing any further in the TORA production GT season. Round three of the championship will be held at Hockenheim on March 27th.
Meanwhile the TORA Formula E series continues tomorrow (Friday 18th) with round five being held at Long Beach California. Virtual Pirtek Racing have already been testing on this east format of the famous Long Beach street circuit for the past several days and the team cars look promising in speed and handling on this bumpy street circuit. Currently VPR still hold third place overall in the team championship points standings for TORA Formula E going into round five tomorrow evening. Round five of the Formula E series gets going at 20:00 GMT and VPR will be streaming from onboard one of their team cars throughout the race. To watch the onboard action tomorrow evening be sure to go to the Virtual Pirtek Racing Twitch channel from 8pm or alternatively you can watch the live stream from the Virtual Pirtek Racing website by clicking on the 'Video' tab found on the top of the website navigation menu.
VPR Hoping For Top Points At Silverstone TORA GT
Posted March 13th 2016: Team Virtual Pirtek Racing head to Silverstone this evening with their trio of VPR BMW M4 Coupes for round two of the TORA production GT championship. After almost two weeks of team testing and fine tuning of their Silverstone setup the VPR team mates now have the excessive fuel consumption under control which was a major concern for the team after team principal AnonCaliga was denied a top ranking finish in his lobby after running out of fuel just several corners from the finish line of the last lap in race one of the last round. Select Veepz and Nutter both look superbly fast during team testing last week while AnonCaliga was a little more reserved having what happened to him in round one still fresh in his mind. Round two of the production GT championship gets the green light at 20:00 GMT this evening (Sunday 13th) and the very latest live timing can be viewed on the TORA website immediately after qualifying and after both races have finished.
Latest VPR Team News From TORA GT & Formula E
Posted March 7th 2016: On February 21st the first round of the TORA Base Performance Simulators Production GT series got underway at Watkins Glen. Virtual Pirtek Racing drivers Veepz and Nutter both qualified for lobby one while Caliga settled for a lobby three start. The VPR BMW’s had promising power and a good setup but the team were aware of the huge fuel consumption rate these cars had in race setup testing and for one of the VPR trio he would fall victim to an empty tank just three corners from the finish line on the final lap.
In race one Veepz crossed the finish line taking sixteenth position in lobby one followed by Nutter in seventeenth position, meanwhile in lobby three and after running his fuel tank dry AnonCaliga managed to pull in a tenth place finish position.
In race two Caliga played his cards with caution after his earlier fuel incident in race one and had a quiet race finally crossing the finish line again in tenth position in lobby three. Select Veepz and Nutter in lobby one secured tenth and eleventh.
After round one of the TORA Production GT series Virtual Pirtek Racing currently sit in third position in the team standings with a total points tally of 450. The Silverstone track in leafy Northamptonshire will host round two of the series on March 13th.
February 26th seen Brands Hatch play host to round four of the TORA Formula E series and eager to carry on with his winning way VPR number two driver Select Veepz placed his electric powered VPR car on grid position three after qualifying had been completed. Virtual Pirtek Racing driver number three, Nutter, also secured a second row grid start after qualifying had finished and placed his VPR car on fourth position for the race start. Due to the low turnout for round four of the series all drivers and teams who took part in round four placed positions in lobby one.
Once again Virtual Pirtek Racing battled with team Samsung throughout the race but it was team Samsung who were victorious on this occasion and took a well deserved first and second place whilst VPR driver Veepz crossed the line in a solid third position quickly followed by VPR team mate Nutter who also replicated his starting position for the race and finished in a well deserved fourth position. VPR driver and team principal AnonCaliga meanwhile rolled across the finish line taking a fourteenth place after again, similar to round three, being rammed on two separate occasions by the same team Samsung driver, unfortunately this sent Caliga onto the grass to take a scenic excursion and caused him to drop back from the seventh position he was maintaining at the time after starting the race in ninth.
Round five of the TORA Formula E series will see all drivers and teams head off to sunny California to race on the street circuit of Long Beach on March 18th. Virtual Pirtek Racing currently occupy third position in the TORA Formula E championship standings with a points tally of 573.

The TORA GT Challenge series gets going on Sunday 21st February, round one of the series comes from Watkins Glen, USA.

VPR Take Double Win At Brands Hatch TORA TCC
Posted February 5th 2016: Virtual Pirtek Racing team driver Nutter took a double win last weekend at the TORA / WIX Racing TCC season finale at Brands Hatch in the number 498 VPR Honda Civic. The double win by the VPR number three driver was made further thrilling due to the fact that Nutter was unable to take part in the qualifying session for the main races which meant that Nutter had to start back of the grid in a bottom lobby and still the VPR driver battled through the field taking his win in race one then again to be repeated in race two by his second win of the round.
Nutter's double win in his lobby came only a week after VPR team driver number two, Select Veepz clinched the first ever top step win for the Virtual Pirtek Racing team during round three of the TORA Formula E championship at Rio coast.
VPR Take First Ever Win At Rio Formula E
Posted February 1st 2016: Friday night seen the TORA Formula E gaggle of teams and drivers head to the Rio Coast for round three of the exciting electric powered championship. VPR drivers AnonCaliga, Select Veepz and Nutter aiming to add further points to the team collection took to the qualifying session which seen Select Veepz setting the top qualifying time for the Virtual Pirtek Racing team trio with a best lap time of 0:47.609 placing him second on the starting grid in lobby A for the main event. Team driver Nutter pushed in a qualification lap time of 0:47.997 placing his VPR car 5th on the lobby A starting grid and finally team driver/owner AnonCaliga placed 15th on the lobby A starting grid after setting a qualification lap time of 0:48.816.
The main race event in lobby A recorded delays whilst one driver on the grid complained about steering wheel issues and also asked for a delayed start time to allow his team mate to appear on grid. Finally once the race did get under way it was soon halted again for restarts due to collisions at the top end of the field and once again for issues with one driver in the pack having steering wheel issues. A final restart and within minutes several drivers made contact allowing lower placed drivers in the lobby, AnonCaliga being one, to take advantage of positions being lost by other drivers and to make up valuable positions. A fierce battle raged throughout the later part of the race between VPR driver Select Veepz in second position and the pack pole sitter. Select Veepz chased down the lead race driver for most of the race matching lap time after lap time until the mandatory pit stops came into play from lap ten onwards. Meanwhile VPR driver three FAA xXNutterXx struggled with balance issues and the occasional avoiding manoeuvre due to accidents by other cars ahead of him who ploughed into tyre and wall barriers which caused several corners of the track to become blocked and heard lobby drivers calling for a pace car to help rectify the issue. Team driver AnonCaliga meanwhile took a mid race pitstop and managed to pass several drivers to then move his team car up into seventh position after having a fun chase, pass, chase battle with the Benedict Racing team owner.
A defining moment of the race came quite late with several laps remaining Select Veepz leading the race and AnonCaliga in fifth position until the second place lobby driver from another team rammed AnonCaliga’s car to pass which was the second time within the race the same driver involved had resorted to this course of action in hope of catching Select Veepz, however this time AnonCaliga was pushed into a barrier which caused severe front suspension damage and causing him to fall down to fifteenth position after a pitting for repairs, the driver who caused the damage to AnonCaliga’s VPR car later claimed, wrongly, that he was being ‘Brake Checked’ by AnonCaliga.
Finally the flag came down on the TORA Formula E round three race at Rio Coast and celebrations began immediately at Virtual Pirtek Racing as Select Veepz placed first and claimed the teams first ever top step podium win with Nutter placing thirteenth and AnonCaliga limping across the line in fifteenth place. The Virtual Pirtek Racing media team spoke to VPR team owner/driver AnonCaliga the following day to ask him about the previous nights events.
A VPR maiden win and in an electric car of all things, how do you feel?
“Indeed, we’ve had numerous 2nd place finishes, several 3rd place finishes on various race organising websites since the CTech Motorsport team was established in 2012 but never a top podium place finish and finally that monkey is off our back at last. It doesn't matter if its electric powered, petrol or even steam powered, even though steam powered isn’t possible on FM6, a win is a win and that was an outright, clear cut, raced to the line win by Veepz. We’re all stupendously happy and proud for Veepz right now and the fact that this is a first ever win for CTech Motorsport but more so for our officially sponsored Virtual Pirtek Racing team.”
How do you feel now looking back on last night’s race antics that caused you to drop back down the field after such a progressive climb through the field to fifth place at one point?
“You know I was fuming last night, it was all bitter sweet, in one hand the team had Veepz secure a well deserved win but on the other hand we had me working my way quietly through the field, with a killer tune may I add by our new team tuner/driver Nutter, only to be purposely smashed into on two occasions by the same driver from another team who simply wanted to catch Veepz but couldn't match Veepz pace and so resorted to illegal tactics in attempt to catching Veepz, had it not been the fact that the team was so happy at Veepz taking the win then I’ve no doubt we would have taken the matter further with race stewards at TORA regarding the driver who cost me a 5th place finishing position. The entire lobby participants told the driver to stop crying after the race, it was terrible, it was like listening to a little child crying over a lost toy and it has now transpired that the driver involved is clearly a very, very bad loser, everyone has now seen this, he became quite verbal on Twitter afterwards claiming one VPR team driver had ‘Brake Tested’ him and another VPR driver had ‘Crashed Into’ him to aid Veepz race win, which is absolute nonsense as there is NO way we would be risking our then 5th place possible race finishing position, the guy is nuts, obsessed and obviously his claims are very inaccurate, unfounded and childish and further proof that he is pretty poor at taking a loss, although he did place 2nd in the race I believe so I don't understand what his issue is really.”
You mentioned VPR’s new team tuner/driver, any feedback?
“FAA xXNutterXx is indeed the new Virtual Pirtek Racing tuner, latest addition to the VPR family and driver line up. Look, he has told me himself he struggled in that race with balance issues, now we haven’t looked into that in detail but it is what it is. I’ve personally witnessed Nutter and Veepz match each other in pace, race side by side in private team practice and test sessions, Nutter kills it during team test sessions, he creates superb tuning setups for the team and does well in the qualifying sessions but at the minute it just hasn’t all came together for him in the main events so far and thats not through lack of trying but I've absolutely no doubt it will all click together for him soon and once that ice is broken there will be no stopping him. The guy is a credit to the team, all the drivers love him, you guys at back of house love him and he doesn’t shy away from putting the time in and he’s always asking if we need adjustments to the tuning and checking if the drivers are happy with the performance of his latest creations, I cant, we cant find fault with the guy and look forward to the very near future when he’s battling up front with Veepz for podiums, ha just as long as they don’t take each other out.”
Finally on the Formula E topic, overall what do you think about the team progress so far?
“I mentioned above about how it will all come together real soon for Nutter, but I just wish it would for me also ha. I’ve suffered, as you know, with pains in my wrist since fracturing it several months ago and it's stopping me getting back onto the wheel setup, not an excuse of course but I know I can shave 2 maybe 3 seconds off my best times if I could just manage the wheel setup again, I’ve tried the wheel recently and it was agony trying to turn and pull gears, I doubt I’ll be back on the wheel setup again anytime soon.
Veepz, what can I say really, the guy is laid back, quiet, chilled, relaxed, in fact if he was any more laid back he’d be horizontal. Veepz will always be the last to log on for team testing, last to be ready for on track time, we’ll always find ourselves laughing and joking about waiting those extra few minutes for him during team test sessions for him to ready up but when he gets on the virtual black stuff he dedicates himself for the entire session and nails it consistently every lap. If it wasn’t for Veepz relaxed approach to everything then I think he wouldn’t be the fun character he is, we’re all proud of him and his funny ways and I guarantee he will be a threat to any Formula E contender for the remaining of the series.
Nutter, like I said is our latest edition to the team and actually a last minute decision by me as we weren’t accepting any further team drivers at the point when the media team guys heard from him one day. I still reckon he’s building up to something big and simply waiting his time, he’s a sheep in wolf clothing who at some point is going to make a stealth attack and surprise us all in a big way, that I’m totally certain of. The team tunes he’s knocking out ahead of each race event are super fast and every one of them so far have been flawless, course he could create even faster tunes but that would take away from car stability on some occasions and I personally prefer a slower but dialled in setup than a blistering fast, unstable car that just won’t hook into corners. I will say this, Nutter has the unique skill and technique of tuning on Forza mastered and thats without any doubt, it was Nutter's tuning that partially aided Veepz taking the round 3 win last night. Lots of people can and have claimed they can tune on Forza but only a small amount of people truly, truly can, Nutter is one of that minority and a highly valuable and respected addition to team VPR.”
Now a final question regarding Virtual Pirtek Racing taking part in the season finale of the TORA TCC series, what was the thinking and reasoning behind this decision?
“Yea thats a tricky one to be honest. VPR was originally registered to take part in this series as an independent since round 1 but due to TORA banning the number 5 Honda Civic which we had invested a large amount of time into through tuning and creating the season livery for we then couldn't find the time to ready the number 2 Honda Civic in time for the series start and then with VPR commitments on another race organising site to participate in another form of racing things simply got confused and it wasn’t possible to continue the idea of participating in the full TORA TCC season. As for why we have come back to this TORA TCC series for the final round of the season was more for the reason of fact gathering so we could see how the WTCC civic performed in this sort of touring car series as this is the first time Forza Motorsport have included WTCC and BTCC cars into the game and going by the amazing progress throughout the TCC season by team CQR in the Honda Civic it seems the japanese pocket rocket is a great car choice for the series. VPR as you know were and are committed to growing further and as we signed Veepz and Nutter during the TCC season I also felt entering the final rounds of the TCC series would be an experience for them and a break from the Formula E format. Hey its like this, we aren’t going into the final races of the TORA TCC hell bent on taking wins or points from anyone, thats not our plan or intention but that said we don’t intend to move over and let everyone past either and if points do become a playing factor then of course we’ll pocket them like any other serious competing team and drivers would do.”
The next round of TORA Formula E will be Round 4 held at Brands Hatch Indy circuit on 26th Feb, meanwhile the season finale of the TORA TCC championship will be held at Brands Hatch GP circuit tomorrow night (Tuesday 2nd) from 8pm GMT.
VPR Team Driver Promotion To Master Tuner
Posted January 18th 2016: Today we are announcing the promotion of team driver Nutter to official team master tuner. Nutter will continue in his team driving role completing the Virtual Pirtek Racing driver trio but also take on the responsibility of developing and creating tuning files for the team, VPR are immensely grateful to Nutter for taking on this role as it will now free up some back of house staff to work on other team projects. Nutter was reportedly only to happy to volunteer for the position after he created a very impressive tune for the team cars more recently. VPR team boss said,
"The fact that Nutter was eager to put himself into this role demonstrates very clearly to me his commitment to team VPR, and that will always stand well with me especially as official team tuner isn't a role to be taken likely because team tuner takes on a huge amount of pressure knowing he/she is responsible for the team cars either performing in harmony with the driver for an optimum result or not performing at all, that said, Nutter has already proven his capability of creating some exciting set-ups and the additional VPR team role as Master Tuner is a position that will fit him like a glove."
Team driver and Master Tuner Nutter is already reported to be working on the team next tuning setup for round three of the TORA Formula E championship which gets going on January 29th from Rio.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Bring Home The Points
Posted January 16th 2016: VPR brought home a nice points tally from the TORA Formula E race at Lime Rock last night. AnonCaliga qualified 7th and took a reasonable 7th place finishing position in Lobby B after struggling most of the race with a setup which just wasn't performing as it had during practice, Anon also fell victim to the well known Forza lobby chat problem which left Anon without any way to communicate with other drivers and unable to hear other lobby drivers.
VPR team driver FAA xXNutterXx qualified 4th for his lobby but during the race suffered unfortunate early damage to his car and after an unscheduled pitstop to repair the car Nutter then found himself 3 laps down. Nutter's final finishing position in Lobby A was 12th which still gave him a points position to contribute to the overall VPR team points tally. The night however belonged to VPR team driver Select Veepz who qualified 3rd in his lobby then drove a faultless race from start to finish in Lobby A and even after suffering from pre race nerves he still put his Virtual Pirtek Racing Formula E car and himself on the podium by taking a very well deserved 2nd position. VPR team boss and driver AnonCaliga had this to say to the VPR media team early this morning:
"So, so proud of the team right now from back of house staff to the drivers and its Nutter and Veepz that I'm particularly proud of right now, two amazing, solid virtual drivers who both done all that was asked of them and brought home points, so yeah we're very proud of our guys right now and thankful we have these two very talented virtual drivers on the team."
Round 3 of the TORA Formula E Championship will be held on January 29th on the Rio Coast Loop with a reverse configuration. After last nights race Virtual Pirtek Racing currently occupy 4th overall in the TORA team standings and we hope we can extend that lead further when we arrive at the Rio round.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Final Test Session Ahead Of Lime Rock Race
Posted January 15th 2016: With round two of the TORA Formula E series from Lime Rock Circuit only a few hours away, the first team practice by all three VPR drivers proved revealing for the VPR staff. Drivers, Select Veepz and FAA xXNutterXx both set blistering fast lap times and personal fastest lap times during the teams private practice/test session.
Virtual Pirtek Racing team boss and owner/driver struggled during most of the practice session to break into competitive lap times and by the end of the team session AnonCaliga's best lap time was recorded at a lonely 52.433 at the Lime Rock Circuit. We spoke to AnonCaliga before VPR Media Staff wrote this piece to ask him what his final thoughts and predications were before we head to Lime Rock for the actual TORA round two race of the Formula E series.
AnonCaliga said that after breaking his wrist several months ago he had to revert back to using the Xbox One controller instead of his usual setup which includes his ThrustMaster steering wheel and at present he feels he is still not used to the controller and due to this is losing at least 2 - 3 seconds per lap.
"I'm most definitely losing a chunk of time per lap compared to my normal lap times using my steering wheel setup prior my wrist injury several months ago" AnonCaliga said.
We asked team boss/owner and team driver what he thought of the times set by his two team mates after the full team practice/test session,
"You know I'm real proud of Veepz and Nutter and with how they both adapted to the team and the formula E car especially as they've only been with the team for around a month. I truly struggled to even get close to either of them during the team test session at the weekend and as for the times they both set, I really couldn't be more chuffed with them, I just hope they can both replicate their best lap times from the team practice session when we go into the actual TORA race where it really matters. Without doubt I really feel that the VPR team made the perfect selection picking Veepz and Nutter from the few dozen applicants for team drivers, we couldn't have asked for a better couple of virtual drivers to put in our team." AnonCaliga told VPR Media Staff.
The VPR Media Staff Team also asked Anon if he would be applying team driver orders or if team orders were already in place. "Nope, theres nothing in place like such. You know better than to ask that, course we will have team orders if or when such a situation arises, this early on in the series I don't think its at all even worth considering team orders at present, besides it will be me without doubt being told to protect both our other drivers or allow them past and so on [laughter]. Seriously though its far too early to consider such a scenario but if, or better still, when that time comes then like all teams challenging for maximum team points we, as a team, will discuss the option further because we would be stupid if we didn't consider team orders and so on to help a particular team driver or to max team scoring points from this series." team boss, owner/driver AnonCaliga told us.
We finally asked AnonCaliga what his hopes were for the teams first race in the TORA Formula E Championship round two, "We missed the opening round of this TORA series due to other commitments on another race organising website that we no longer take part in so although this is round two for all other competitors at TORA its the VPR team first round and all I can really ask or hope for is that the team, as a whole, do their best and bag some points. predictions? I can definitely predict that our two points scoring drivers will be Veepz and Nutter, without doubt it will be both of them who score the team points seeing as the TORA rules stipulate that only the first two highest point scoring drivers from a team will be counted." he said.
So with the actual race only a matter of hours away we wish our drivers all the best of luck and hope they all do well and score those team points. We hope to report some good news to our followers after the TORA Formula E race from Lime Rock.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Unveil TORA Formula E Entry
Posted January 4th 2016: Today we finally unveil our TORA Formula E team entry livery. Virtual Pirtek Racing Team Driver Signing
Posted January 1st 2016: As we continue with our goal, which began in mid 2015, to further grow the VPR team we would like to take this opportunity to announce our latest team driver signing.
Paul McCrea aka FAA xXNutterXx became part of the Virtual Pirtek Racing family just a few weeks ago and will join AnonCaliga (Team Founder & Owner) and Select Veepz in the VPR driver line up.
Although Nutter is currently on a probationary trial with the team he already shows promise of becoming a permanent full time team member due to his politness and bubbly personality that makes him a joy to speak to. Nutter's first appearance for the virtual Pirtek team will be alongside our other two drivers when they compete in the TORA Formula E Championship. Round two of the TORA Formula E Championship will be held on the 15th January at Lime Rock Circuit.
Finally we would like to also announce that VPR team driver two, Brett Wheatley aka Select Veepz recently completed his probationary trial early and is now a permanent VPR team driver. Veepz came out of his trial period early after the VPR back of house team staff responsible for looking after social media, this website and many other things spoke with VPR team founder and owner about how impressed they were with how Veepz had settled in with the team so quickly and in his first two races with the team displayed some pretty neat driving skills and consistent lap times.
So congratulations Brett (Veepz) on becoming a permanent team member and also good luck to our latest driver drafting, Paul (Nutter) when he takes part in his first race for the team on the 15th of this month. Good luck guys and well done.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Register For TORA Formula E Series
Posted December 30th 2015: Virtual Pirtek Racing have gone green and registered a three car entry to the TORA Formula E Championship.
The TORA Formula E championship is, for all intense purposes, a Spec Series in which all competitors will drive equally balanced electric cars on Forza Motorsport 6.
TORA have stated that this Spec type series will allow tuning of cars but upgrading components is forbidden meaning that overall this series will see each driver and each team compete against each others own driving skill level.
For those that are seasoned tweakers and tuners we should also see a battle on the tuning front during the course of the championship as each driver tunes and tests their cars in aim of squeezing every ounce of power from their Forza Formula E race cars.
TURN Postpone Round 2 Of GT3 Series
Posted December 17th 2015: Having managed to get in some early practice time on the virtual black stuff at Hockenheimring Virtual Pirtek Racing team mates Select Veepz and AnonCaliga in the two VPR Audi R8's were somewhat unamused by the news that TURN had decided to postpone Round Two of the GT3 Series until this coming Saturday. As many people will now know the cause of the postponement was due to technical issues with Microsoft's own server which affected many multiplayer game lobbies and group chat. TURN decided early on Saturday evening last week that rather than wait about hoping Microsoft would rectify the issue that Round Two would instead be hosted one week later. Round Two from Hockenheimring, Germany gets under way at 10pm (GMT) on Saturday 19th and live Lobby 'A' action can be watched on the TURN Media Twitch channel.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Take 5th Overall In V8 Supercars Series
Posted December 16th 2015: Virtual Pirtek Racing secured fifth place overall in the privateer's championship of the TURN V8 Supercars Series which concluded on Sunday 13th at Bathurst. Bathurst proved to be a tricky enduro race for all competitors and, like most, VPR had their own moments. In the opening stages of the race VPR driver AnonCaliga struggled to catch the main group of the field after another driver caused the VPR Ford Falcon to come into contact with the wall on the Mount Panorama stage of the circuit. Later and after several other lobby competitors were unable to complete the race distance due to lag issues, too many laps down or simply through frustration the VPR Ford Falcon had several unscheduled pitstops to repair damage, refuel and change tyres then finally crossed the line eleventh in lobby and clinched points to secure the fifth place overall position in the V8 Supercars privateer championship.
Virtual Pirtek Racing Disappointed After Round 1 Of GT3 Series
Posted December 6th 2015: After all the hype and build up of the Virtual Pirtek Racing team cars unveiling with pictures from Silverstone the first round of the TURN GT3 Series from Silverstone didn't go quite to plan for either of the VPR drivers. Declared a wet race by TURN Officials new VPR team signing, Select Veepz, in the second of the two VPR Audi R8 LMS team cars out qualified team driver one, AnonCaliga, and ranked higher in the race lobbies however the joy was short lived as on the final lap of round one Select Veepz ran out of fuel with only several corners to the finish line.
AnonCaliga, through lack of on track practice time this week on the lead up to the opening round of the TURN GT3 Series suffered one of his worst qualifying results placing him and his team car one in the lower rank race lobbies. By end of race AnonCaliga had fallen from the top ten finishing positions within the lobby he had been placed after being spun by another driver.
Round two of the TURN GT3 Series is on December 12th with the Hockenheimring being the back drop for the 40 lap race.

TORA TCR Super Global RallyX
Posted June 9th 2015: CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing set to take part in season two of the popular TORA Rallycross championship. Season two of this series will feature slightly more powerful and larger cars. In season one of TORA GRX Virtual Pirtek Racing entered their Ford Fiesta R5 based RallyX car featuring a very memorable Pirtek livery, in this season we again plan to return to the RallyX season with a twist to the usual Pirtek livery that we use on our normal track race cars. We plan to continue using slightly modified and more creative versions of the Pirtek livery in the future RallyX cars that we use but these slightly more crazy liveries will be exclusive to our RallyX cars and will not feature on our future GT and Touring cars.
Season two of the TORA RallyX series has been renamed by TORA organisers as 'Super Global RallyX' or 'Super GRX' for short to reflect the more powerful and larger selection of cars that will feature in this season. At time of writing CTech Motorsport have not yet revealed their car entry for the TORA Super GRX but our livery designer plans to unveil our Super GRX entry and livery design later this week exclusively here on our website before being released to our other social networks.
Season two of the TORA Super GRX kicks off this coming Friday (12th June 2015) with the first round, heats 1, 2 & 3 being held at the Sebring International Raceway. The series will see all entrants using a same make manufacturer class, in this event all competitors will be using the 2010 Honda Civic Type R, in addition to the same make and class rule all cars will also have the same build specifications as with all previous Spec Cup racing series which means that the final season standings and points will depend entirely on driver skill and not the machinery.
CTech Motorsport Celebrate Pirtek Sponsorship Anniversary
Posted May 21st 2015: This month CTech Motorsport celebrate their one year anniversary of sponsor partnership with real world BTCC team sponsor Pirtek UK. In May 2014 CTech Motorsport was privileged to gain official sponsorship from Pirtek / Pirtek Racing making CTech Motorsport yet another of the many growing number of virtual race teams receiving sponsorship and backing from a real world company. Pirtek being the world leader in their field of hydraulic fluid transfer and transfer systems have sponsored many real world motorsport teams and events over the years but virtual racing sponsorship was a first for Pirtek. Amongst many benefits included in the sponsorship deal with Pirtek UK, CTech Motorsport was also granted official and sole use of the Pirtek logo / livery to use exclusively on all of the virtual team vehicles.
CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing would like to thank Pirtek UK, especially their Marketing Director for all the support received so far and look forward to continuing the partnership for many years to come.
There is now an increasingly fast and ever growing amount of companies, brands and real world race teams now providing sponsorship and backing to the world of virtual motorsport, and virtual gaming in general. Companies, such as Pirtek, that have a forward and futuristic way of thinking who have gave backing to virtual race teams demonstrates a change in times, there is now a clear advertising benefit for real world brands supporting virtual motorsport due to the fact that technology has progressed at an alarming rate, people now spend more time online and many people and virtual teams now live stream virtual racing, upload race and gaming footage to YouTube and more recently have such virtual race championships broadcast on popular motorsport television channels such as MotorsTV thus allowing a greater number of people to see real world brand logos. Many virtual racing teams have over the past several years reported a huge interest and following in their own fan base as their real world racing counterparts do, effectively, virtual motorsports is now becoming a serious sport and with the addition of real world official motorsport governing bodies such as the MSA now recognising virtual motorsport the interest is only set to grow.
CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing Launch New Website
Posted May 20th 2015: Finally we have found some spare time to complete this new official team website. Our original plans were to build a complete website from ground up using the latest HTML5 coding script creating a fully interactive website hosted on our own paid server however time has not yet allowed for this and possibily in the winter months we may well return to that original idea as it would be a waste of our coding and design knowledge not to create a ground up website. In the meantime we hope our followers enjoy this site, it may be a freely hosted website created with pre-made templates from Weebly but we plan to keep the site reguarly updated with our virtual racing progress and results. Enjoy! Craig, Stephen & Paul (Virtual Pirtek Racing)
