TASCAR - Elkhart Lake 128 After spending the previous round only going left, for round three of the series, we had some right hand turns to deal with. Quite a few of them in fact, as TASCAR headed to Road America. For qualifying, it was very tight between A55ASSIN and Mutley, with a shock in store. The gap between the pair was just 0.005, in favour of Mutley. With all of practice suggesting that it would be A55ASSIN ahead come race day. Unsurprisingly, no one split the two, so they’d be line of stern on the grid, starting 10th and 11th in A lobby. The other two VPR cars, driven by AnonCaliga and StealthDavo, would also share a lobby. But would be much further apart on the C lobby grid. AnonCaliga put in a decent mid-pack performance, setting himself up for a good race, but putting himself 6th on the grid. StealthDavo on the other hand, had a bit of a nightmare qualifying. Unable to put a lap together, he would start last but two. The race in A lobby was hectic. First corner contact would drop Mutley to the back of the field. An early pitstop jumped him back past a few cars, including A55ASSIN. A late charge to close down the car ahead, gained him one final position with just a few laps to go. Ending the race in the lofty heights of 7th. A55ASSIN was seemingly embroiled in intense battles throughout the entirety of the 33 laps. Involving just about every car that got anywhere near him. Unfortunately, these battles, whilst entertaining, did cost him quite a bit of time. Therefore, he dropped to 12th by the end of the race. In C lobby, AnonCaliga had a decent race. Running near the front of the pack throughout after a good start. He would go on to climb two places from his grid position, finishing the race in 4th. StealthDavo was unsurprisingly hindered by starting so close to the back, but he also managed to make progress up the field. A 10th placed finished was the reward for battling hard though traffic all race. As TASCAR approaches the half way point, Virtual Pirtek Racing sit top of the Teams Standings! In the Drivers’, the Daytona Oval would be the only real difference between Mutley and A55ASSIN, who have scored almost identically across the two circuit races. Mutely sits 3rd, whilst A55ASSIN is a few spots behind in 8th. AnonCaliga has improved his overall position in every round so far, with his points haul in R3 taking him up to 27th in the standings. StealthDavo is only marginally behind. He rounds out the top 30. Next up we’re back to an Oval, well, a rectangle really, but with rounded corners. I’d better stop before I offend someone again! I’ll be back next week with our progress in the Brickyard 200. Article By: Jamie Cutting | Team Manager Comments are closed.
